Religious customs and temple entry restrictions violate women’s constitutional rights.
Religious customs and temple entry restrictions violate women’s constitutional rights. The Supreme Court has rightly questioned the ban on entry of women of menstrual age into Sabarimala temple, Kerala. There are many such temples where women devotees are not allowed in. The Shani Shingnapur Temple in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, is one such example. It’s time temples change their archaic mindset.
