It is not surprising that Malegaon blasts prime accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has been given a clean chit by the NIA. Though it is said that Lt. Col. Purohit and nine others will be tried for murder and conspiracy, the day is not far when they will also be cleared of all charges. The NIA’s conclusion that the Hemant Karkare-led ATS’ investigation was “suspect” negates the inquiry of an officer of integrity who is no more. Such Right-wing appeasement is not expected of the NIA.
