The information and broadcasting ministry’s decision to form a committee for a revamp of the Central Board of Film Certification is welcome. The censor board has been mired in controversy since the beginning of the year when Pahlaj Nihalani took charge as chairperson. It is hoped that the recommendations of a reputed director like Shyam Benegal for the restructuring of the censor board will provide a holistic framework.
