Defence minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement after the terror attack in Pathankot that “if someone is harming this country, then that particular individual or organisation should also receive the pain”, was uncalled for. Even an airplane hijack is capable of bringing an Indian government to its knees as was visible in the IC-814 hijacking. So instead of being boastful, Mr Parrikar should call for a thorough inquiry into the Pathankot attack so that we can fend off another such attack instead of sounding macho afterwards.
