Continuing his reformative streak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched an electronic trading platform that will benefit farmers by allowing them to sell their agricultural produce at competitive rates. The e-portal will connect 21 mandis in eight states and provide farmers greater reach for their produce. It will also will end the role of middlemen and bring transparency in pricing. The e-National Agriculture Market should be encouraged by all states, irrespective of the party in power, to give farmers a fair deal for their hard work.
