BJP general secretary Ram Madhav’s invocation of the concept of “Akhand Bharat” cannot be treated as another case of the “fringe” in the BJP spewing right-wing rhetoric. Mr Madhav’s proposition of peace is ironic given the vitriol he is known to use against those who oppose the idea of “Akhand Bharat”, which violates the sovereignty of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Hence it is untenable at both the ideological and political levels.
