Gentleman’s game

Cricketers and cricket lovers should be happy if the Lodha panel recommendations are implemented by the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). All along the BCCI has functioned as a society for mutual benefit while managing to silence its critics by taking credit for the growth of cricket, especially in terms of revenue. Barring ministers from the board, setting an age limit for holding office and fixing tenures, along with the suggestion to legalise betting, if implemented, will take cricket back to being a gentleman’s game.
