In response to your editorial, Dynasty trouble in US (Feb. 27), which mentions Jeb Bush dropping out of the race for the Republican presidential candidacy, I would like to state that his predicament is mirrored by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi not being able to assume the post of party president. When he first contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2004, people hinted at a prime ministerial role for him. But it never came to be. Now people and leaders alike don’t like him because the country is fed up of the Nehru-Gandhi family’s stranglehold over the Congress.
