Siddarth Narrain’s article, Sec 377: The battle for identity (Feb. 2), raised an interesting point about the “377 litigation being the defining legal battle of our generation”. For people to be able to come out of the closet we first need to get the issue out of the closet of taboos and talk about it. As LGBT activists await the Supreme Court’s verdict on the curative petition against Section 377, it is worth pondering over the debate and discussion generated by it, which has helped politicise the sexually marginalised.
