Clear the air

Madhya Pradesh last earned nationwide notoriety when the Vyapam scam deaths happened. Once again, the political leadership at the helm has come under national scrutiny. The killing of Simi activists appears fishy and a host of queries need to be answered. Simi, accused of carrying out several attacks and having links with Pakistan-based terror groups, was banned in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. While it is too early to make any categorical assertion on the Bhopal killings, a free and fair probe overseen by the courts would help in clearing the air, which is thick with allegations and counter-allegations.
