With reference to Antara Dev Sen’s article Delhi’s driving debate (January 11), desperate times call for desperate measures and the Delhi government must be lauded for coming up with the odd-even formula. Even if it was on a trial basis, the success of the odd-even formula can be gauged from the fact that air pollution caused by vehicular traffic declined by over 50 per cent on January 9; that clear roads reduced the travel time to workplaces by half was a bonus.
