In pulling up the Centre for not implementing reservations for transgenders, the Supreme Court took a wise stand by excluding lesbians, gays and bisexuals from getting quota benefits in educational institutions and public appointments. The Supreme Court correctly highlighted that quotas are provided keeping in mind the social and economic conditions of a community and not their sexual preferences. Clearly, the Centre was stalling on granting transgenders reservations on purpose.
