Full marks to Tina Dabi for topping the UPSC exams. But highlighting her stupendous feat against the backdrop of her dalit background is uncalled for. She never asked for any relaxation on account of her caste. She was never discriminated against at any stage of her life so far and Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi, where she studied, always motivated her. So why is the media hell-bent on highlighting her caste Why do we continue to perpetuate the bogey of the obnoxious caste system It seems we don’t want to get rid of it.
