The fire that devastated the National Museum of Natural History at the FICCI building in New Delhi shows that we never learn from our mistakes. The building had no fire clearance and the fire-fighting equipment there was not functional. From the scale of the fire, it is estimated that the museum must have lost at least 200 exhibits. This is shameful. This shows our disregard for safety. Any amount of fire-safety measures can’t bring back the treasures.
