Besides boosting the morale of BSY and that of party workers, the verdict should give the BJP strongman a free hand to take on the rival Congress and the JD(S) as well as detractors within his own party. The verdict should also do much to resurrect the career of the BJP leader whose fortunes had taken a tumble after the Lokayukta held him guilty on various counts, including receiving kickbacks from a mining company.
