Apropos Sanjay Kumar’s article High turnout in Assam may not be a vote for BJP (April 15), it is the high voter turnout in the Muslim-dominated seats where the BJP could lose, but, apart from that, there are many factors that could lead the BJP to victory. The anti-incumbency factor would come into play as the people of Assam are tired of 15 years of Congress rule. The BJP’s campaign was controversy-free and moderate, yet intense. It also announced its chief ministerial candidate very early. The BJP-Asom Gana Parishad alliance in Assam has a very high chance of winning.
