Back to dark ages

The Grand Alliance’s victory in Bihar begs a moment of introspection for the people of Bihar. After all, it is their loss and not Narendra Modi’s. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s wapsi to the political forefront is a bad omen, given his proven track record of perpetuating jungle raj in the state. Granted that some loose cannons in the BJP muddied Mr Modi’s development pitch. But Mr Yadav, the main partner in Nitish Kumar’s Grand Alliance, is a bigger motormouth than any other politician in the country. People should brace themselves for a return to the dark ages in Bihar.
