The Brics summit has ended in Goa and India has used it as a vehicle to promote its goal of the isolation of Pakistan. There were hints that China is not keen to follow the Indian line of “dubbing Pakistan ‘the mothership of terrorism’”. Maybe, the boost to Bimstec may further deepen Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation. But given that China and Russia may never shake off their wariness regarding India’s growth and global aspirations, India is unlikely to achieve a breakthrough. Today, we have to change the way we perceive and deal with neighbours diplomatically.
