Man held for molestation on Indigo flight

A middle-aged man was arrested by the police on a complaint of molestation by a fellow female passenger onboard a Delhi-bound Indigo flight.

A middle-aged man was arrested by the police on a complaint of molestation by a fellow female passenger onboard a Delhi-bound Indigo flight. The incident took place at the Kolkata Airport on Monday morning.

The accused, Sanjay Kand (50), is from Gurgaon and works in a footwear company. He allegedly misbehaved and molested a woman passenger, seated beside him. The victim raised an alarm and complained to the airlines’ on board staff. Mr Kand was detained by the CISF who later handed over him to the police of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport police station at around 10 am. Both of them were deplaned by the flight staff and taken to the Airport police station where the victim, a resident of Greater Kailash in New Delhi, registered an FIR. Meanwhile a Chinese air passenger was arrested by the Customs at the airport for allegedly carrying different types of medicines. worth Rs 29 lakhs in his luggage. He was caught at the time of his departure to Hongkong by Dragon Air, according to Customs sources. The medicines were seized by the Customs. Mr Liyong was granted bail by the Barasat Court later.
