A mild earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale on Thursday jolted central Nepal, but no damage was reported.

A mild earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale on Thursday jolted central Nepal, but no damage was reported.

The aftershock was reported at 10 am with epicentre located at Sindhupalchowk district, 45 km east of the capital city, according to the National Seismol-ogical Centre. The quake was also felt in Kath-mandu valley. At least 407 aftershocks of 4 or more magnitude have been recorded in Nepal after the devastating earthquake of April 25 that killed nearly 9,000 people.

However, there was no immediate report of any damage caused by the earthquake. A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was felt in Rasuwa district on Tuesday.
