‘Sharif has business interests in India’

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had business interests in India.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had business interests in India.

About Mr Sharif’s recent meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, Mr Khan claimed the meeting was arranged through an Indian steel business tycoon Sajjan Jindal rather the diplomatic channels.

Talking to reporters here, he questioned the Prime Minister whether he would condemn tweets of Mr Jindal that Pakistan’s agencies were responsible for Pathankot terrorist incident.

“Who is Jindal and what is his relationship with the PM or his sons,” he questioned. “Why did the PM visit his house in Delhi for dinner and what was Jindal doing in Kathmandu and Raiwind,” he added.

Mr Khan said Pathankot airbase attack incident in India was being used to increase tension between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Dr Musaddiq Malik, spokesman to Mr Sharif, rejected Imran Khan’s statement and clarified the Premier had no business ties with any Indian national.

The spokesman said despite repeated contradictions, Mr Khan was bent upon declaring the Prime Minister as a business partner of an Indian industrialist.

“Imran Khan’s objective is to misguide the people and he has no interest in truth. A valid argument could be responded but not ignorance,” he added.
