The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) is the least democratic party in Pakistan, a survey report said. The report, released by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT), said the PML-N was followed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (Fazal), as the second and third least democratic parties among the eight political parties evaluated for the report. The PILDAT report is about the internal democracy within the political parties of the country. The Jamaat-e-Islami was ranked the most internally democratic party of the country with 56 per cent points. It was followed by the National Party with 47 percent points. The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf slipped to third position despite the fact its party elections were among the most popularly contested and elaborate in the country’s history.
