Pakistan urged the United Nations on Thursday to send a fact-finding mission to Kashmir to probe “human rights violations”. Foreign office spokesman Nafees Zakariya said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had written another letter to the UN secretary general apprising him of the “deteriorating situation and human rights violations in Kashmir.” Sharif had thanked the UN for recognising Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
