Lewinsky, Cosby in Trump’s new campaign video

Donald Trump dredged up a photo of Monica Lewinsky in a 15-second video montage on Thursday, as the Republican presidential frontrunner stepped up his personal attack on his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

The clip, posted on Mr Trump’s Instagram account, showed a succession of pictures, among them one of former US President Bill Clinton standing beside Ms Lewinsky, the White House intern with whom he had an extramarital affair in the late 1990s.

The next shot shows a New York tabloid featuring Mr Clinton’s face and the headline “Liar, Liar,” after the then-President admitted he had carried out an “inappropriate” relationship.

Ms Hillary Clinton’s voice plays over the clip, during which she is heard proclaiming: “Women’s rights are human rights and human rights are women’s rights, once and for all. “Let’s keep fighting for opportunity and dignity.”

The video also shows photos of Ms Clinton standing beside disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner and Bill Cosby.

The clip concludes with a screen of text ironically declaring Ms Clinton a “true defender of women’s rights.”

Meanwhile, Mr Trump’s determination to sleep at home every night has raised eyebrows among election campaign veterans, who say it could cost him, as he is addressing lesser sessions than his opponents.

The presidential candidates are spending long days on the campaign trail and their nights in a succession of budget hotels, often in small towns.

However, Mr Trump, after nearly every rally, hops into one of his planes or helicopters and returns to New York so that he can sleep in his own bed in his marble-and-gold-furnished Trump Tower apartment in Manhattan.

Mr Trump in an interview however said, “It works very well for me.”
