Pakistan fears that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is plotting to kidnap Pakistani officials in the coming weeks, media reports said.

Pakistan fears that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is plotting to kidnap Pakistani officials in the coming weeks, media reports said.

Pakistani security agencies have told the government that India wanted to kidnap Pakistani officials to be used as bargaining chips for the release of alleged RAW officer Kulbhusan Yadav, the reports said.

Security officials said RAW was working with the Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS) and plotting to target Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

Yadav, who was allegedly New Delhi’s chief spy for Balochistan and Karachi operations, was caught by Pakistan’s ISI at the border with afghanistan after a long-drawn catch operation codenamed “Blue Bird”.

Pakistani intelligence reports said that both RAW and NDS could also make bids to kidnap officers from the Air Force and Navy. Interior ministry officials in Islamabad confirmed the information but declined to share any details.

Earlier, the man Islamabad identifies as an Indian spy had told interrogators that he had very “specific” instructions from his top bosses who allegedly told him to “Keep Balochistan and Karachi burning. Paralyse the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the seaports of Pakistan”.
