ISIS releases new video warning of attacks in Russia ‘very soon’

The ISIS militant group has issued a video threatening attacks in Russia “very soon”, the US terrorism monitoring group SITE said on Thursday. “Soon, very soon, the blood will spill like an ocean”, chants can be heard saying on the audio track to the five-minute video in Russian, SITE reported.

“We will take the Kremlin. Our snipers are at the ready and will shoot you in the head,” the chants continue. “The Muslim nation will grow stronger day by day, Europe is shaking and Russia is dying.”

The video features gory scenes of executions by beheading and gunshot as well as tanks and battle scenes.

Released by ISIS’s foreign language media division Al-Hayat media centre, the video does not contain threats against specific Russian targets.

ISIS has previously called for attacks on Russia and the US.
