No evidence to back up the Republican’s 9/11 claims

Donald Trump on Monday accused Hillary Clinton of lying when she said ISIS used videos of his comments about Mu-slims to recruit militants.

The Republican presidential frontrunner also took to Twitter to demand an apology from his leading Democratic opponent.

“She’s a liar!” Mr Trump told more than 6,000 people at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also said Ms Clinton was “crooked” and “not a President.”

During Saturday’s Dem-ocratic debate, Ms Clinton had said that Mr Trump had become ISIS’s “best recruiter” and said, “Th-ey are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jih-adists.” There was no evidence to back the claim, and a spokeswoman later said, “She didn’t have a particular video in mind.” Ms Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon, asked Monday by MSNBC if Ms Clinton would apologise to Mr Trump, insisted, “Hell no.”

During his rally on Monday at Grand Rapids’ DeltaPlex Arena, Mr Tru-mp used crude language to portray Ms Clinton as someone who constantly loses, citing her race against Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2008. “She was favoured to win and she got schlonged, she lost,” he said. “Schlong” is a Yiddish slang term for a man’s genitals.

Meanwhile, an investigation by a leading New Jersey news organisation found nothing to back up Mr Trump’s claims that he saw thousands of Mus-lims cheering the fall of the towers in the city across the river from New York.
