Australia-based Indian-origin millionaire couple, Pankaj and Radhika Oswal’s $70 million Perth home is all set to be demolished.

Dubbed the “Taj Mahal on the Swan River”, the palatial structure has now been described by the local council in Perth as an “eyesore”.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Mrs Oswal wanted the house to be her "absolute fantasy" with six bedrooms, a temple, an observatory with a revolving roof and parking space for up to 17 cars. But the couple were unable to finish building the house after they ran into trouble in December 2010 with ANZ bank — over outstanding debt. In fact, the Oswals - owners of a fertiliser business — had to leave Australia.

On Thursday, as the Oswals and the bank agreed to an "in-principle settlement" of a billion-dollar lawsuit over the sale of their business, officials from the local council were preparing to bring down the structure.

The Sydney Morning Herald said the couple have until September to demolish the massive building.
