Will visit all airports to delete name, says Vadra

For the second time in three days, Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra on Monday pressed the government to take his name off the elite “no frisking” list at the domestic airports, even as the government hit back, with minister of state for civil aviation Mahesh Sharma saying Mr Vadra should have written to him rather than bringing up the matter through Facebook. “Let Mr Vadra give in writing that he doesn’t want to be included in the VIP list, I will remove his name in three days. Rather than writing on Facebook, he could have written to me,” Mr Sharma was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
Taking a dig at the government on the issue of his exemption, Mr Vadra said he plans to visit every airport terminal and add a “white tape” on his name in the VVIP list. “Plan to visit every terminal in the airports in India and add a white tape on my name from the VVIP list and my signature on top!! So look out,” Mr Vadra wrote in his status message on Facebook. Mr Vadra had reportedly questioned why his name was not being removed from the elite “no-frisking” list and wondered if it was a “conspiracy” to malign his image. “I have... given my consent to remove my name from this list many times. My conduct says it, but apparently the analysis disclosed by the government on my threat perception, allegedly says I am not required to be on this list,” he was quoted as having said.
