Richard Huckle was given 22 life sentences for sexually abusing several children in Malaysia.

Bengaluru

: British paedophile Richard Huckle, who has been found guilty of sexually abusing dozens of children in orphanages posing as a Christian English teacher, had visited an orphanage in Bengaluru in 2013.

The New Hope for Children Orphanage in Bengaluru published a statement on its Facebook page, saying that Huckle had visited it years ago but clarified that he was not ‘allowed’ to be around children at the time and not a single child was harmed. They were shocked to know that he is accused of sexually assaulting children and babies in south-east Asian countries.

He had posed as a photographer when he visited the orphanage and made a video on the work of Pastor George, who is the executive director of ‘Helping Hands’, a non-profit organisation based in Bengaluru.

“Several years ago, Huckle briefly visited New Hope for Children Orphanages, where he created a video about the work of Pastor George. Praise God that Huckle was at no time allowed to be around any of the children in India without supervision. Pastor George assures us that none of the children in India could have been harmed,” the statement by the orphanage said.

Huckle used to target slums and orphanages in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. He would often disguise himself as an English teacher cum photographer and would sexually abuse minor children.

Huckle has also been accused of forcing minors to indulge in sexual acts while he filmed the entire act, which he would later share with his audience on the social platform. He would often share the X-rated videos on the 'dark web' which his audience would access through a special internet connection.

While making the sexual content available to other paedophiles, Huckle would boast about it by writing things such as “hitting the jackpot” with a three-year-old girl, who he said was “loyal as my dog and nobody seems to care”.

Huckle, originally a resident of Ashford, Kent, was nabbed by the Australian police while they were investigating a child abuse case after receiving a tip-off from the Britain’s National Crime Agency.
