Toddler run over by car in Delhi

A one-and-a-half-year-old boy was crushed to death by a vehicle in a freak accident in Aman Vihar area of Outer Delhi on Wednesday.

A case has been registered and the accused car driver has been arrested, said DCP (Outer) Vikramjeet Singh.

Deceased Dipak was playing with other children at a banquet hall, Abhinandan Vatika, when he came under the wheels of an SUV driven allegedly by Rijul Gupta. The arrested accused is a nephew of the owner of the banquet hall, the police said. The accused fled from the scene after the incident. The locals held a protest demanding arrest of the accused who was later caught by the police.
