‘TMC extension of Left misrule’

As the Congress demanded Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh’s resignation over the alleged fixing of a bypoll in the state, the BJP said the Opposition party seeks resignations from everyone. It also charged the Congress with being “bankrupt” of ideas and using media reports and allegations of other parties as a “springboard” to attack it.
The BJP also attacked Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, saying it is an extension of the Left’s 34-year “misrule” and questioned the Trinamul Congress government’s development claims.
It alleged that West Bengal was only witnessing growth of “bomb-making” industry and the “syndicates” run by TMC supporters.
While refraining from replying to the charges against BJP leaders in Chhattisgarh, party national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh said the state unit had replied in detail to them.
He also spoke about the return of “jungle raj-2” in Bihar, alleging that a fear psychosis was being created in the state so that RJD workers keep running their shops and making money. Mr Singh alleged that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav was the “super chief minister” in the state and chief minister Nitish Kumar his junior and asked the Bihar CM to respect the mandate given by people to him.
Accusing the TMC government of using taxpayers’ money to “spread the falsehood” about the state’s economic growth through nationwide advertisements, the BJP leader, who is also party’s co-incharge of the state, said it was a “blatant distortion of statistics” and Bengal’s “very low” economic base was the main reason behind such a growth. He also alleged that West Bengal was becoming an “ungovernable state” and was in a “terminal decline”.
“The TMC government’s claim that Bengal is witnessing a boom in industrialisation is contrary to the ground reality. Industries like jute and tea are closing down. Only one industry is flourishing, bomb making...,” Mr Singh said.
