Terrorists open fire on security forces in Srinagar; 1 CRPF jawan killed

Seven security personnel were injured in the firing and a fierce gun battle is still underway in the area.
Srinagar
: Terrorists opened fire on security forces in Nowhatta area of Srinagar on Monday morning, which marks India’s 70th Independence Day.
The unspecified number of militants fired at the security forces in the area which is close to the historic Jama Masjid. Seven security personnel were injured in the militant attack, a police official said.
The CRPF is fighting the terrorists in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir police. Firing is still underway and security forces have cordoned off the area.
Meanwhile, two militants were killed as Army foiled infiltration bid in Uri sector of north Kashmir.
