Within an hour Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluding his day-long visit, Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi accused him of disappointing the state which, he claimed, was expecting a special package on the pattern of Bihar. Pointing out that the PM also failed to provide any visible relief for the Bodoland Territorial Council, Mr Gogoi said, “BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary was expecting a package of Rs 1,000 crore but the Prime Minister disappointed them also.” Mr Gogoi said, “The PM is very good in doing emotional drama. He talks very sweet but when it comes to delivery Assam gets nothing.” He said, “Before every state elections, the Prime Minister is in the habit of announcing packages. I was expecting that in the name of elections Assam will get something at least but not a single penny was given.” Accusing Mr Modi of making many false claims in his speeches, Mr Gogoi said, “The BJP leaders hardly know about Assam and just make casual emotional issues to get votes.”
