Senior IAS officer Alok Shukla, an accused in multi-crore public distribution system rice scam in Chhattisgarh, has chosen social media, a platform, to plead his innocence in the case.
Mr Shukla, who is credited with devising the pioneering PDS of Chhattisgarh that is acclaimed nationally as well as internationally, in the latest post on his Facebook wall asserted, “There is no real evidence against me and the case is false and fabricated. I will finally be vindicated.”
Mr Shukla, along with another IAS officer Anil Tuteja and 15 other senior officers of the state government, has been charged with involvement in the alleged PDS scam unearthed in Chhattisgarh civil supply corporation by anti-corruption bureau in February this year.
The 1986 batch IAS officer however tried to explain the post, saying this would help his friends to decide whether to continue their association with him or not.
He said, “I am likely to be prosecuted. It is also possible that I may not get bail immediately and may have to spend time in jail.” He added, “This post is not about explanations and excuses.”
