Suspended MLA Sarfaraz Alam held for misconduct
The railway police on Sunday arrested JD(U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam for “misbehaving and ill-treating” a couple while traveling on New Delhi-bound Guwahati Express last week.
The railway police on Sunday arrested JD(U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam for “misbehaving and ill-treating” a couple while traveling on New Delhi-bound Guwahati Express last week. Following an FIR and a notice from the railway police, the JD(U) had suspended him and he will also be tried for traveling without a ticket on Rajdhani express.
According to A.S. Thakur, DSP railway police, “During the interrogation most of the allegations against him were found to be true. We are currently quesstioning him.”
Sarfaraz had earlier denied all allegations claiming that he didn’t even board the train and called the charges against him “baseless”. Following an FIR and a notice from the railway police, the JD(U) suspended him.
According to railway SP P.N. Mishra, acting on an enquiry report, a four-member team was sent to New Delhi to question the couple which returned to Patna with a formal complaint against Mr Alam.
When asked, CM Nitish Kumar said his government will not spare anyone who takes law in their hands and action against the MLA was taken immediately.
Sarfaraz Alam an MLA from Jokihat in Kishanganj is a son former Union minister Taslimuddin. Mohammed Taslimuddin was earlier with RJD and was considered close to RJD chief Lalu Yadav.
