Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who had to cut short her roadshow in Varanasi after she fell ill, was “stable” and under the observation of specialist doctors on Wednesday at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital.
“She is dehydrated but is presently stable and her further investigations are being conducted. She has been advised rest,” the hospital’s chairperson Dr D.S. Rana said. Ms Gandhi was flown back to Delhi close to midnight on Tuesday. She cancelled the roadshow towards its fag end in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency after complaining of unease. The 69-year-old Ms Gandhi was initially admitted to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital Tuesday night as her condition was serious.
