Sitaram Yechury to canvass for Vijayan, Achuta

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury will campaign in Kerala for six days, covering constituencies in the northern, central and southern parts of the state, including V.S.

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury will campaign in Kerala for six days, covering constituencies in the northern, central and southern parts of the state, including V.S. Achuthanandan’s Malampuzha and Pinarayi Vijayan’s Dharmadom.

The party general secretary will launch his campaign on April 30 and May 1, addressing a series of public meetings and conventions in Ernakulam and Palakkad districts during which he will also address public meeting in Malampuzha in support of veteran leader Achuthanandan. Mr Yechury will campaign in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and the adjoining districts on May 7 and 8.

In the last leg of his campaign, the CPI(M) general secretary will cover Kannur and Kasargod. During this phase, he will address meetings in support of Mr Vijayan in Dharmadom.

CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat will begin her campaign next month, holding public meetings in various constituencies.
