CBI's probe raised suspicion of the level of Peter's involvement in the case
Mumbai
: Former media baron Peter Mukerjea was sent to judicial custody till 14th December after CBI sought his custody in the Sheena Bora murder case. Mukerjea on Saturday was subjected to a lie detector test to “verify” his statements on various aspects of the three-year old murder of his step daughter Sheena Bora. CBI had found that his statements were evasive and raised suspicion of the level of his involvement in the case. CBI sources claimed that the test became necessary as Mukerjea purportedly changed his version a number of times on key aspects of the murder mystery and his answers were not convincing. Peter is the husband of Indrani Mukerjea, who is the prime accused in the murder case. He was arrested on November 19 and the decision to arrest him was taken in view of alleged inconsistencies in his statement before the CBI. 24-year-old Sheena was allegedly murdered by her mother Indrani Mukerjea, Indrani's former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai here in April 2012 and her body was dumped in a forest in the neighbouring Raigad district. Mukerjea had been questioned thrice earlier by the Mumbai police.
