With only a couple of days left for the fourth phase of polling, war of words between the BJP and the Grand Secular Alliance deepened further on Thursday.
With only a couple of days left for the fourth phase of polling, war of words between the BJP and the Grand Secular Alliance deepened further on Thursday.
While BJP chief Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on Nitish Kumar-led grand secular alliance raking up the beef issue, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of “divisive politics”.
Mr Gandhi, who addressed rallies in Madhubani, Katihar and Kishanganj urged people to “stay away from the BJP” accusing them for “creating communal atmosphere to win the ongoing Assembly election in Bihar”.
He said, “They have been making one Hindustani fight with another, wherever they go they create an atmosphere which leads to intolerance between two communities.”
Mr Gandhi launched a frontal attack on the Prime Minister and the BJP for terming the Grand Secular Alliance as “three idiots”. He said, “The Prime Minister uses derogatory and inflammatory terms for the Grand Secular Alliance and people of Bihar which is below the dignity of the post he holds, the other day he addressed leaders of the Grand Secular Alliance calling them as three idiots and shaitan (devil).” Adding further, he said, “You know why they are using such terms, because they know that they will be defeated in Bihar by the Grand Secular Alliance.”
Mr Gandhi, while accusing the Prime Minister for not fulfilling promises, he said people of Bihar will teach the BJP lessons for “escalating prices of daal and other essential commodities”.
Claiming that the Grand Secular Alliance of the JD(U), RJD and Congress will win by two-third majority in the ongoing Assembly polls he said, “If voted to power, the Grand Secular Alliance will work for development of the state.”
