Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath has said the country did not require ‘divisive legislation’ like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) summit at Davos in Switzerland on Thursday, he said he was opposed to any law that threatened to divide society.

Reiterating that the CAA would not be implemented in MP, he que-stioned the n-ecessity of br-inging such legislation at a time when the country was facing an economic slowdown.

Mr Nath, who has been attending WEF summits for the last four decades, said the buzz in the current summit has been the slowdown and social unrest in India.
