Lucknow: BJP president Amit Shah on Friday termed the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress “poisonous snakes” and blamed them for stalling development in Uttar Pradesh.

“SP, BSP, Congress and RLD are ‘saapnath’ and ‘naagnath’ (variants of poisonous snakes) and they are to be blamed for forcing the youth to migrate to other states for jobs,” he stated.

Mr Shah, while addressing a parivartan rally in Etah district, said that these parties had “ganged up” with Trinamul Congress against the Modi government on the demonetisation issue.

“The central funds sent to UP have been usurped by the “chacha-bhatija sarkar” and chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will have to pay for the misdeeds of his government,” he said, adding that the money sent for the welfare of poor and farmers to UP went into the coffers of SP leaders who have built palaces for themselves.

He said that the Akhilesh government will have to answer for the Mathura incident where squatters were allowed to encroach on government land for years, for Bulandshahr where gang rape was committed on the highway and a UP minister made mockery of the incident and also for Etah where over 100 people lost their lives after drinking spurious liquor.

“It is corruption, corruption and nothing but corruption that rules Uttar Pradesh,” he pointed out.

Mr Shah said that it was only a BJP government that would ensure all round development of the state and allow people to live here and work her with their families.

Lashing out at Congress vice-president, the BJP chief said, “Rahul baba is undertaking padyatras daily. It would be better if he takes out yatras against poverty, unemployment and starvation for which his party is responsible”.
