EC denies clearance to Rafale advert, Congress cries foul

Bhopal: The Election Commission here has denied clearance to a campaign theme based on the controversial Rafale aircraft deal developed by Congress to attack the BJP during its electioneering in Madhya Pradesh, leaving the grand old party upset.

The party on Wednesday described the move by EC as ‘discriminatory’ and threatened to move the apex court against it. “We will move the Supreme Court against the decision by chief electoral office here not to clear the advertisement submitted before it by Congress”, higher education minister Jitu Patwari told reporters.
