Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released the theme song, Mera desh badal raha, agey badh raha hai, to mark the second anniversary of the BJP-led NDA government on May 26. The BJP will celebrate the anniversary as “Vikas Parv” and will also launch a video of the song.

Mr Modi is to address a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur on May 26 and about four more such rallies in different parts of the country. The NDA government had taken oath on May 26, 2014.

The lyrics of the 2:49-minute-long song highlight various schemes initiated by the Modi government, including the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative, the crop insurance scheme and the Jan Dhan Yojana.

The BJP will also start its 15-day nationwide outreach programme from May 26 to showcase the NDA government’s achievements.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, BJP president Amit Shah will inaugurate a one-day workshop on May 21 which will be attended by office-bearers and spokespersons from across the country. The workshop will be addressed by Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari, among others. On May 22, volunteers of the BJP’s information technology team will meet in Delhi to plan its social media campaign.

The BJP will hold around 200 press conferences across India to publicise the Central government’s achievements and successful schemes. All BJP MPs have been asked to camp in their respective constituencies for at least one night during those 15 days.
