While Bihar faced its fourth and high-staked phase of Assembly election for 55 seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed three rallies for the fifth and final phase on Sunday, claiming that the NDA will “win the ongoing election with two-third majority.”
Prime Minister Modi’s assessment, according to NDA leaders, is based on the huge turnout in all his rallies. Addressing a massive crowd, the belligerent Prime Minister unleashed a frontal attack on Mr Nitish Kumar and Mr Lalu Yadav displaying a memorandum letter which he said was sent to him by local villagers. He said that the thumb impression on letter exposed the state government’s claims that they have worked for “growth in education sector.” Calling Mr Kumar and Mr Yadav “Bihar Par Bojh” (burden on Bihar), he said his six-point agenda — “education, employment and medicare for families and electricity, water and road network for the state,” will change the face and fate of Bihar. While defining the meaning of Bihar in six words, he said Bihar stands for brilliant, innovative, hard-working, action-oriented and resourceful. He appealed youths to vote in large number to change the fate of Bihar.
“I have full faith in the youths of this state, if given a chance they can turn Bihar into a developed state. Wherever Biharis go they change the face, but Bihar is lagging because of the leaders who ruled the state for 25 years but did nothing. They are burden on the state, get rid of them and give a chance to others who want to work for you,” Prime Minister Modi said, urging youths of the state to support the NDA in the ongoing Assembly election.
Pitching for development, he mounted a blistering attack on Mr Kumar and Mr Yadav. Calling them twin brothers “Jungle Raj and Jantar Mantar Raj,” he said “first Bihar faced Jungle Raj for 15 years but now he has found his twin brother Jantar Mantar Raj. Those who don’t believe in democracy do black magic, together they will ruin the state.”
During his speech on Sunday, he promised overall development of the state and focused on the revival of sick industries.
He said the NDA government if voted to power, will focus on the growth of Agro-based and tourism industry.“This is a major Makhana producing area but was ignored by the previous governments. Similarly, Bihar has tremendous potential in the tourism sector which can generate employment.”
He further laid out the development model saying that his NDA government has planned to invest Rs 600 crores, out of the package of Rs 1.65 lakh crores, for the revival of “rich tourism sector” and development of Ganga ghats.
