Prime Minister Narendra Modi may address eight mega rallies in election bound Uttar Pradesh, starting from Mahoba in the Bundelkhand on October 24. After his “exhilarating” Dusshera speech at Lucknow’s Aishbag ground, BJP’s poll managers are busy charting out the campaign plan of Mr Modi, who is going to be the party’s “face” in the coming electoral battle in UP.
In another development, UP BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya announced that the party will stick to its policy of not projecting anyone as their CM candidate, giving rest to speculations on the issue. Mr Maurya along with party’s central in-charge for the state, Om Mathur, met BJP president Amit Shah to discuss election strategies, along with its media campaign. Mr Modi will address a rally in Lucknow on December 25, where party’s four “parivartan yatras” will culminate. These yatras will be flagged off next month from four different regions of the state.
Mr Maurya said, “All parties are waiting for the CM candidate of BJP...it is our policy that we will contest the Assembly elections without projecting anyone as our CM candidate.”
