The Delhi High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing on petitions seeking cancellation of interim bail granted to Jawaharlal Nehru University students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar for April 28.
A petition was filed in the High Court on March 15 seeking cancellation of his interim bail, saying that Kanhaiya had violated the bail conditions and made some objectionable remarks against the armed forces.
The Delhi government told the High Court that no single ground has been shown which warrants cancellation of interim bail granted to Kanhaiya Kumar.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police told the court that it was verifying whether JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar violated interim bail conditions.
Kanhaiya, who was earlier arrested on charges of sedition, was released from Tihar Jail on an interim bail of six months on March 3.
A case was later registered against him in the Kanpur civil court for giving objectionable statements against Army personnel.
Speaking at a student's gathering on International Women's Day, Kanhaiya alleged that the Indian Army personnel have committed atrocities against women in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kanhaiya was arrested earlier on February 12 in connection with an event organised in the JNU campus on February 9 during which anti-India slogans were allegedly raised.
