Sources in the Indian Army had also denied media reports indicating that the PLA encroached

The report coincided with the first dialogue on counter-terrorism and security between India and China held in Beijing on Tuesday.

They also reached consensus on measures to strengthen cooperation and to jointly deal with security threats, according to a document issued after the meeting.

The dialogue was jointly chaired by Wang Yongqing, secretary-general of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Mr R.N. Ravi, chairperson of the Joint Intelligence Committee of India.

In his talks with Mr Ravi, Mr Meng Jianzhu, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, commended the stable progress in Sino-Indian ties.

He said that terrorism was a common enemy of the global community, and that strengthened cooperation between China and India was in the interests of the both countries.

He voiced hope that the two sides could put to action counterterrorism collaboration and protect regional security and that of the two countries.

Mr Ravi, for his part, said India was willing to step up communication and cooperation with China in the field of counterterrorism, so that the two sides could work together via unity and solidarity, reported the official media of China—Xinhuanet.
