Nitish Kumar: No place for vendetta in politics

“There should not be any vendetta in politics. In a democratic system a mandate is given to work for the public.

“There should not be any vendetta in politics. In a democratic system a mandate is given to work for the public. Public mandate is not to harass the Opposition,” Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar stated in New Delhi on Thursday, adding that the “government has the primary responsibility to run Parliament”.

He termed his meeting with the Prime Minister as “a courtesy call” and said there was no particular issue involved in the meeting. However, he told reporters, “I am hopeful that the Centre will honour the commitment made by the PM. I am hopeful it (a special package) will be implemented.”

He also met Assam leader Prafulla Mahanta in keeping with his attempts to stitch together a grand alliance against the BJP in the poll-bound state.
