The NDA on Saturday said it would launch a statewide agitation against the Nitish Kumar-led grand secular alliance government over the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar. According to NDA leaders, they would also be meeting state governor Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday to apprise him about the condition of the state. The BJP, criticising the state government over a series of murders of politicians in Bihar, also questioned the intention of the Nitish Kumar government. Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, who attended the cremation of slain BJP leader Visheswar Ojha, said, “We fail to understand what this government wants.” He pointed out that the “government failed to provide security to him despite a threat to his life”. The state police Saturday released a statement claiming that the main suspect, one Harendra Singh had been arrested. According to Shahabad DIG A. Rahman, besides Singh five other persons were also detained in connection with the murder.Ojha’s murder took place less than 24 hours after another BJP leader, Kedar Singh, was murdered in Saran district of the state. Earlier this month LJP leader Brijnathi Singh was killed in Patna.
